Waqas Hussain

A passionate supporter of disability rights and diversity issues, Waqas is the founder and Director of DEO Consultancy UK. Waqas is an experienced and dynamic professional and innovative problem solver with a broad range of skills covering a variety of HR and organisational functions including training & development, conflict management and mediation in the work place.
He is an accredited mediator, a member of the Disability Rights Commission's Best Practice Trainers Panel and an advisor to UNESCO for South Asia. He has undertaken research, drafted guidance on diversity and inclusion and delivered training projects to local, national and international organisations such as UNESCO, DRC, GMC, BBC, NHS Trusts and various local authorities.
Prior to working as a consultant in this field, he has worked in journalism, education and local government both in Britain and abroad. Waqas is blind which coupled with his experience gives him a unique insight into disability and race issues.
Waqas has many years experience of working with equality and diversity in Britain and internationally. He shares his practical know how and expertise in supporting business in the private and public sector to mainstream equality with business strategy and to manage it as a key business objective.
I firmly believe that nothing is constant but change. My vision is to help bring a change in the society where all individuals could have both an equal opportunity and Indeed, an equality of opportunity to make best use of their skills to contribute for collective good.
